Frimley Hall Hotel, real wedding

This beautiful day definitely deserved its own love story.

From their pre-wedding session I knew that Jack and Megan were true romantics and this spilled right into their big day. It was a glorious May day at Frimley Hall Hotel, Frimley for these two families to come together as one. The Pettitt Photography team had all bases covered with two photographers and a videographer and we were off to a flying start. The property was all set for the big day when we arrived so we split up straight away to capture both Jack and Megan as they got ready. The ceremony room was basked in sunlight (yay!) and full with love and support from the pair’s family and friends. A quote from Frimley Hall Hotel ‘it was the loudest cheer we’ve ever heard from a ceremony’- now that’s a statement! After the ceremony was the iconic confetti walk outside of the hotel and then onto group photos and the beautiful couples photos. Jack and Megan’s photos oozed classic, romantic glam as we explored the grounds and climbed into Megan’s veil- you’ve got to see the photos to know what I’m talking about.

It was then onto speeches and I can confidently say there wasn’t a dry eye in the house- me included! A three course dinner and a cup of tea later we headed into the evening with some more couple’s photos during the golden hour and a few giggles on the telephone/ answerphone guestbook. The cake cutting lead straight into the first dance and such an epic party with a wall to wall full dance floor. But before the night was over for us we headed outside for a sparkler walkthrough. Although these are commonly called a ‘sparkler exit’ the bride and groom aren’t actually leaving at this time as generally the photographers aren’t still around at the very end of your day and trust me- you want those sparkler photos when they look as gorgeous as these!

  1. A second photographer

It’s a common misconception that having a second photographer means that you receive double the amount of photos. Although you will likely receive more photos than if there was only 1 photographer on the day, the main purpose of a second photographer is to capture the alternative angles or moments happening at the same time somewhere else. Here’s a few examples of this; while I was with Megan capturing the bridal preparations, Sian was able to be with Jack on the other side of the property photographing the groom preparations. The ceremony room filled up quite quickly which meant it would’ve been difficult for me to get from the front of the aisle to the back for that ‘first kiss’ photo- thank goodness for the second photographer because how gorgeous?! It also meant that having two photographers during that dreamy couples session meant for alternative angles and another creative brain to make for the most stunning shots.

  2. The garden in bloom

The flowers and the greenery during Jack and Megan’s couple’s session really helped to make the gallery pop- but was it all a surprise for the bride and groom? It was not! Jack and Megan booked Frimley Hall Hotel more than a year in advance so with one year to go until their big day they took the opportunity to check out the venue. This gave them an idea of what the property and gardens would look like on their big day so they could pin point particular places for their photos they knew they would love. Check out the garden in bloom- the beautiful flowers and the gorgeous rays of sunshine on a glorious May day.

  3. An epic party

The first dance was a great indication of the party that was about to follow. Full of laughter, unquestionable dance moves and hilarity this was a dance floor to remember. A great tip to ensure your dance floor is full to the max is to make sure your second song- the one after your first dance- is a banger! If you choose a great song for people to get onto the dance floor straight away it’s then just a case of keeping them there to dance along with you. The longer YOU stay on the dance floor, the longer your guests will- they are there to see you after all!
